Also, the following risks of home office need to be observed, recognized and eliminated as quickly as possible:
For employees | For employers |
Loss of social contact with colleagues | Lack of employee communication ⇒ wrong actions ⇒ bad results |
Difficulties in aligning quickly with their boss | The “If I don’t see them working, they’re not working” feeling ⇒ lack of transparency ⇒ lack of control |
More difficult access to working materials and documents | Data protection |
No clear separation between work and leisure | For people without self-control skills, it is difficult to deliver the desired work |
According to the current DAK study, 3/4 of employees miss direct contact with colleagues while being at home office. About half of them suffer from not being able to quickly check something with their boss. Almost half of them also lack sufficient access to work documents. Half of the employees under the age of 30 can no longer clearly distinguish between work and leisure (“DAK special analysis examines health aspects and work-life balance in the Corona crisis” (2020), last accessed Sept 9th, 2020).
